A series of carved wooden works from a capsule collection with seto totempole souvenir, an artist who creates carved wooden figures using local timber and scrap wood in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.
This work was created in resonance with the theme of TUCKSHOP 2025AW, "NOTIFICATION: OFF" – a time to step away from the hustle and bustle and face nature and oneself. The figures, carved in a quiet environment away from digital distractions, bring a small "space" and "awareness" to everyday life.
Furthermore, this work is also compatible with the custom of "filling in one eye" seen in Japanese Daruma culture. There's also the joy of nurturing it as your own small charm, by drawing in one pupil with a wish and then filling in the other eye when the wish is fulfilled.
This collaboration also includes a tote bag printed with the original pole. It's a special item that can be enjoyed with the artwork.

seto totempole souvenir
An artist based in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, who creates carved wooden figures using local timber and scrap wood. By participating in thinning activities in the forests of Seto, they engage in cyclical craftsmanship that returns local natural resources to their creations.
Re-evaluating the "handmade souvenir culture" that once existed, they have carefully interpreted local activities and cultural backgrounds through the collection and research of folk toys and overseas folk art. Based on this learning, their activities also aim to convey the charm of Seto and create opportunities for people to visit by producing carved wooden figures imbued with the simplicity and warmth of Seto.
