The comb, adorned with an illustration by Takuro Matsui, was created to accompany you before you depart from the hotel. The artist's hand, vividly depicting motifs from everyday life and other worlds, is imbued in this small tool.
Takuro Matsui's style is characterized by the dynamism that traverses the boundary between digital and analog, and the unique rhythm of curves. The comb, with its dancing curves reminiscent of curly hair, tells a small story in your hand each time you use it. The mundane act of tidying your hair in the morning becomes a little more special.
His perspective, as he continues to exhibit his work both domestically and internationally, reinterprets everyday tools as vessels for art.
No two mornings are ever the same. That one stroke marks the beginning of your journey.
Collaboration Overview: STAY & PLAY WITH
TUCKSHOP® × MUSTARD™HOTEL SHIMOKITAZAWA
This is a collaborative project between the unisex brand TUCKSHOP and MUSTARD™HOTEL SHIMOKITAZAWA in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. Collaborative items by five artists and creators are displayed in the hotel rooms, designing an experience where guests can touch them during their stay and, if they like them, proceed to purchase.

Takuro Matsui
An artist and illustrator who vividly depicts motifs from everyday life and other worlds. His works, created through a production process that moves between digital and analog, possess both dynamism and delicacy, and he continues to exhibit them both domestically and internationally.
A world that is somehow nostalgic and yet somehow unseen. Takuro Matsui's works exist on that boundary. The characteristic rhythm of his curves naturally draws the viewer's gaze, and before they know it, they are led into a story.
